Scammers on various social media sites, particularly Instagram, will create fake accounts offering to double, triple or even add a zero to amounts of money that you send them. The Western Union money flip involves using Western Union as the company to send your money to the scammer for these amazing returns.
The scam is simple in essence: the scammer sets up fake accounts showing pictures of cash and fancy cars and offering to make huge returns on any money you ‘invest’ with them. They ask you to deposit money using Western Union to their account. Sometimes, if the amount is small, the scammers may pay-out to convince you to send larger amounts. When you do they take your money and close their account leaving you with nothing.
Common sense should tell you that any offer like this that is ‘too good to be true’ is fake so don’t fall for this scam.
