Many software security programs may be lacking in several different ways. However, one of the most frustrating for many organizations is when it comes to understanding potential threats. Sure, the program alerts one to the security risks, but if the company does not understand the type of risk and how it may affect them, they may not know what steps to take next. This is why it is important to only use security software that offers a risk based matrix. This “matrix” is a simple visual representation that outlines potential threats, level of threat and gauges each one by importance. This is key when it comes to making decisions and deciding where security may be lacking. Rather than blindly trusting anyone or anything to identify and purge risks, it is much better to know what the organization may be up against to prevent future issues.
