The purpose of hormone optimization therapy is to determine whether a person’s hormonal levels are below an optimal threshold and, if so, to develop a plan to improve their body’s hormone functions. If a person’s body is not producing hormones at adequate levels then this may be a solution. If a person is experiencing symptoms of lowered hormone functions a doctor will schedule a physical plan and consultation to determine whether hormone replacement therapy is the best solution.
It works by either supplementing under-produced hormones or replacing them with other hormones which are chemically identical to those produced by the body naturally.
