it’s easy to find homes to rent in Spain, and many can be found in the popular beach resorts or major cities of Madrid and Barcelona. However, one destination that attracts thousands of pilgrims every year is also a fascinating and historic place to visit, and a house rental is an affordable way of experiencing this Spanish city. Tucked away in a corner of northwest Spain, Santiago de Compostela is best known as the finishing point of the centuries old pilgrims’ Way of St. James. The spectacular cathedral here is also reputedly the burial place of one of Jesus’s apostles, St. James. Aside from the 11th century cathedral, the town has a well preserved Medieval center, one of the most picturesque city squares anywhere, several excellent museums and is a great place to sample the unique food and wine of Galicia.
