The Padi Instructor Training Course (PIDC) is the foundation of qualified scuba diving training. The International Society designed the PIDC for Padi and Allied Sports (ISPAAS) in 2020.
The PIDC has three levels of training, each with its own set of requirements. The most basic of these levels is the Padi Open Water Instructor course (PWDI) and then the Intermediate course (PDI).
The PWDI Intermediate is a basic course and consists of an introduction to the world of scuba diving, an introduction to equipment and accessories, swimming techniques for scuba diving, a brief overview of the equipment and accessories required for the course, and finally the course itself including a few safety and medical training sessions. At the end of the course, you will be prepared to teach a Padi Open Water course. This course consists of some equipment refresher lessons, practical lessons, and also additional training to get you up to speed with the equipment required for a dive. It is important to note that you must have at least four diving experience before you are considered suitable to take this course.
