You might be thinking, NDIS Housing? What is NDIS housing and what does it mean for me? NDIS stands for National Disability Insurance Scheme. NDIS Housing is one of the services that might become available to you if you are living in Australia or New Zealand. This article will share 3 main points about NDIS housing that you need to know about.
The first main point is NDIS housing is not a requirement. NDIS Housing means that you might become eligible for services from your NDIS plan which include home modifications, in-home support, it also community residential options such as an NDIS registered provider or shared supported accommodation.
The second main point about NDIS Housing is that it may affect the type of supports included in your NDIS plan. For example, if you are living independently in a house with no assistance but would like to access additional help when needed then this could be covered by NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency).
The third main point is that NDIS Housing is not a requirement, it’s just an option. If you are happy living in your current home and don’t need any support then NDIA will not offer you NDIS Housing services.
