Cleaning and Oiling of Commercial Freezer Door Gasket. Dip a clean piece of clothing in hot water with detergents and scrub the seal thoroughly and the grooves of the seal, then dry with a dry cloth. Apply a light coat of oil using a clean piece of cloth, ensuring that the mineral is worked down into the grooves and the sides. Remove the excess oil.
This can be done using a piece of paper. Open the freezer door and put that piece of paper between the opening and its frame. Close it, pull the paper out. A good seal will cause friction, but a compromised one allows easy movement.
Applying Hot Air
Done using a hairdryer when the seal is compacted. Common to new seals. Direct to the position of the seal that does not seal properly because of certain malformation. Turn it on on medium and point it at the air gap. The heat will expand the seal and remove the gap.
