Acquire Basic Requirements

A firefighter cannot be hired unless they have met the requirements that are needed to become a professional. Some of these essential requirements include attaining the age of consent, which is 18 years. If you fall below this age, you can work with the professionals as a junior firefighter. Also, check for the maximum age limit, which may be between 25 years and 35 years. Some departments require fighters to have EMT training and additionally go for fire technology lessons.

Be In Top Physical Condition

Through becoming a professional, you will be required to take a physical ability test and pass. The tests include hose drag, forcible entry, carrying equipment, climbing stairs search and rescue, breaching the ceiling, and raising the ladder. These activities require you to have a quality physical form.
