To combat the many devastation that are inevitable in a flourishing society, a specialized group of brave men and women are rigorously trained to fill the uniforms of firefighters. Apart from fires, they are trained to handle a multitude of emergency situations which may be medical in nature, such as rescuing the injured, treating injuries, as well as preparing and managing the public during and in the aftermath of sudden emergencies.
Since such crises cannot be predicted, it is natural for firefighters to keep odd hours. While the firefighters at the fire station have the most rapid response times in the event of an emergency, the ones on leave may also be called out from their homes to help.
A firefighter career may begin in a provisional capacity, but over the course of time, and with consistent performance and a penchant for improvement, they may quickly rise in rank. With sufficient experience and acquisition of technical and practical knowledge, it is possible to rise to the rank of a fire chief.
